Five Questions With Lindsey Mandia, Associate Employment Specialist
As a recruiter what’s the best resume tip you can offer? Your resume is essentially selling yourself to the recruiter so be sure it’s clean, detailed and really shows who you are! A great resume can make you stand out from the other 50 applicants who applied for the same position.
What's on your to-do list? I would love to drive across country without the pressure of doing it within a week: stop where I want, do activities in different states and not have to worry about when I have to be back home. I’m sure it will have to wait until I retire, but I’ll do it eventually!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A writer. My grandmother would call me the next Danielle Steele. I would always be reading or writing short stories when I had free time. When I was in high school, I even had a small column in a monthly publication!
What's the best gift you've ever received? My family. They make me a better person and my life wouldn’t be complete without them! My husband and kids give me the gift of laughter every day. Without them, my life would be boring!
What historical figure do you most admire? Florence Nightingale. When I was younger, I read a book I was given from my grandmother that was a story about Florence's life. She was such a strong woman figure who was determined to help others regardless of the obstacles in her path.
